Children from throughout our health care system have access to the hospital’s pediatric heart services.

Pediatric Heart Care in Central Massachusetts

From birth to adolescence, we provide inpatient and outpatient services to diagnose and treat heart murmurs, preventive cardiology needs, congenital heart disease and other heart problems.

Cardiac Testing and Screening

Many diagnostic tests available today can tell doctors if you have heart disease or if it’s getting worse. Your cardiologist will decide which test is best for you based on your symptoms, your medical history and your history of heart disease. 

At UMass Memorial Health Care, our patients have access to the latest cardiac tests and imaging technologies at locations across our health system. More advanced tests are available to all of our patients at our Heart and Vascular Center, located at our Medical Center in Worcester.

Pediatric Eye Care

Whether it is routine or highly specialized eye (ophthalmology) care you need for your child, the UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center in Worcester is your answer. We provide comprehensive ophthalmologic care for infants, children and adolescents.

Pediatric Endocrinology

If your infant, child or adolescent is living with an endocrine condition, you can count on the UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center.

Our doctors – called pediatric endocrinologists – diagnose and treat a wide range of childhood endocrine disorders, which affect hormones and how a child’s body functions. We offer complete evaluation and management for the following conditions:

Diabetes Education and Nutrition

If you're newly diagnosed with diabetes, we recommend you participate in our Diabetes Center of Excellence education workshops. For best results, combine our group and individual sessions with a certified diabetes careand education specialist (CDCES), registered dietitian, and/or nutritionist. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) recommend at least 10 hours of diabetes education. Medicare annual benefits include 10 hours of initial education as well as two hours follow-up.
