Patient-reported Outcomes Move into Clinical Practice

A recently published article written by David Ayers, MD, UMass Medical Center chair of orthopedics and physical rehabilitation, explains the growth in patient-reported outcome measures using patient questionnaires in today’s clinical practice settings. Dr. Ayers and UMass Memorial Medical School are leading a national registry, Force TJR, studying patient outcomes in total joint replacement patients.

UMass Medical School Gets $7.5 Million to Fight Ebola

Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen is contributing $100 million through his Paul G. Allen Family Foundation to help battle the Ebola epidemic in Africa. The University of Massachusetts Medical School is the beneficiary of $7.5 million of that total and plan to use the grant to help rebuild the health care system in Liberia.
