Why Choose the Limb Preservation Center at UMass Memorial?
Clinical Trials
Through the PROMISE III clinical study, we’re investigating a new therapy called LimFlow for people with chronic limb-threatening ischemia. The treatment uses special devices to bypass blocked arteries and restore blood flow to the foot, which may prevent amputation in people who have exhausted all other treatment options.
Collaborative Care
Vascular surgeons and wound care specialists plan your treatment with experts in endocrinology, infectious disease, podiatry, plastic surgery, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Our team approach ensures you receive seamlessly coordinated care.
Second Opinions
If you’ve been told you need limb amputation, we can offer a second opinion. Our diagnostic expertise, advanced treatments and the skillset of our vascular surgeons means we can often prevent limb loss and preserve your quality of life, even when you think you’re out of options.
