United Way of North Central Massachusetts (UWNCM) also recently distributed $40,000 to four agencies as part of the second phase of its Determination of Need initiative, funded by a grant from UMass Memorial Clinton Hospital.

Worcester-based behavioral healthcare provider Community Healthlink has received a $208,000 grant from the City of Worcester for its Shower Program, which is part of CHL’s Homeless Outreach and Advocacy Project.

Eighteen Central Massachusetts nonprofits have been granted a combined $1.4 million from Worcester-based UMass Memorial Health in partnership with Shields Health in Quincy.

BOSTON – The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be sending more than $1.1 million to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to reimburse UMass Memorial Health Care, Inc.

In spring 2021, Worcester set aside $1 million to start the program, and later chose UMass Memorial's Community Healthlink (CHL) behavioral health center as the partner agency. For nearly a year, CHL has been designing the program, and is now targeting a June launch.

UMass Memorial Health Care is the beneficiary of over $1.2 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

BOSTON — The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be sending more than $2.3 million to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to reimburse UMass Memorial Health Care, Inc.

UMass Memorial Health is the largest health system in Central Massachusetts and the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School. UMass Memorial is the only adult Level I Trauma Center and Level III Neonatal ICU in Central Massachusetts.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be sending nearly $4.7 million to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to reimburse UMass Memorial Health Care, Inc. for the costs of testing, acquiring equipment and hiring temporary staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Medical experts are hoping to avoid what is being dubbed as a "tridemic" this winter. It would occur if the health care system sees a sharp rise in patients battling the flu, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
