The Cancer Center at Harrington is focused on breast cancer treatment and recovery, including male breast cancer cases.
A diagnosis of breast disease can be stressful, emotional, and overwhelming. At Harrington, our goal is to bring coordination and convenience to our plan of care, while understanding each step along the way.
Our comprehensive breast navigation program is designed to treat patients with a variety of symptoms and conditions, including breast pain, cysts, lumps and cancer.
A group of medical and surgical specialists will meet with the patient and then meet as a group to develop a plan of care to be presented to the patient. A nurse navigator, who is part of the team, will help coordinate the patient’s complete course of treatment in order to provide seamless services.
Our center includes medical specialists from a variety of disciplines, such as medical and radiation oncology, general surgery, breast surgery, plastic/reconstructive surgery, pathology, mammography, social work, and nursing.
In forming the center, Harrington works in coordination with Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians, radiologists from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and pathologists from New England Pathology Associates.
