Our Celebration of Hospital and Nurse’s Week

Every day of the year, our healthcare providers play a vital role in caring for the health of our patients and communities. Two weeks during the year, we call special attention to the fantastic services of all our hospital workers—and nurses in particular.

This year at Harrington, we are celebrating both National Nurses’ Week and National Hospital Week May simultaneously…May 11 through May 15.

I personally want to extend my thanks to all Harrington employees for their dedication and hard work.

We engaged in some exciting employee recognition and reward activities this week, including a breakfast buffet for almost 80 nurses who completed our Clinical Ladders program.

Fruit baskets were delivered to nursing unites and break rooms in all our facilities.

We also had healthcare-system wide ice cream sundaes, parties, and novelties distributed for all shifts.

Raffles were given away all week long, including restaurant gift certificates, Red Sox tickets, and much more! Many thanks to our medical staff and nursing directors, as well as many vendors for donating.

Giving back to the community is another important Harrington tradition, and on Friday,  May 14, we will deliver donated, non-perishable food and other items such as soap and toothpaste to a local food pantry. This will mark the culmination of our collection drive that started on April 29.

As is the case with so many Harrington events, many people are contributing in the planning and execution of this week.  Special thanks to Chief Nursing Officer Tom Hijeck, all our nursing directors, and the 3 Cheers Committee.

Cheers to all and Happy Hospital and Nurse’s Week!
