SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Ruth Benet, DO, has joined Harrington Physician Services at its Brimfield Family Practice.
Dr. Benet received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. She most recently completed a residency at Eastern Connecticut Family Medicine at Prospect Manchester Hospital in Manchester, CT where she was co-chief resident.
Originally from central Massachusetts, Dr. Benet has experience in the full spectrum of family medicine, including simple in-office procedures like joint aspirations and suturing.
As an osteopathic physician, she has had additional training in the neuromuscular skeletal system and has an interest in functional medicine, which incorporates all available treatment options including supplements or complementary approaches to improve health.
Dr. Benet has participated in a number of research articles including the role of Osteopathic Manual Medicine in Congestive Heart Failure, pulmonary primary care, and renal and splenic infarct.
She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Practice and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
Dr. Benet joins Drs. James Goodwin and Charles Cavagnaro, Nurse Practitioner Kayla Cross and Nurse Practitioner Kim Vetal to provide routine and preventive family medicine.
