What is Cardiac Rehab?

Cardiac rehabilitation is a specially supervised program to help individuals recover from heart surgery or heart attack. At Harrington, we also offer cardiac rehabilitation for those with congestive heart failure, as well as other heart diseases.

We begin with the diagnosis of heart disease and extend beyond the recovery phase.

Why is Cardiac Rehab Important?

Patients are encouraged to play an active role in their care by recognizing the importance of changes in lifestyle, nutrition, and fitness.

Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program offers individualized treatment to patients by inviting them to participate in specialized exercise, strength-training, counseling, and education sessions with the goal of returning to better health.

Most heart disease patients can lower than risk of future health problems by taking the lead in improving their health.

We will work with you to determine your best care plan, and help you navigate the insurance paperwork necessary to complete the program.

What our program includes:

• Assisting individuals to identify and modify their risk factors, increase their physical activity and return to an active and satisfying lifestyle;
• A team approach to your care, involving primary care doctors, cardiologists, nurses, physical and occupational therapist, social workers and nutritionists;
• Individualized, multi-phase approach to cardiac rehabilitation care
