Patients First – All Year Long

Ensuring the safety of our patients is a priority every day, every month, all year long at Harrington HealthCare System.

Every March, we celebrate National Patient Safety Awareness Week. The annual education and awareness campaign helps to identify everyone’s role in delivering safe care.

From patients to care providers, we are all united in the goal of keeping patients—and those who care for them—free from harm.

The campaign focuses on patient engagement. It emphasizes the importance of the relationship between providers and patients and their families. Enhanced communication begins with an informed and engaged patient and helps to lead to safer care.

We want to make our patients aware of what we do every day to ensure their experience is a safe one. We also want to provide the community with the tools they need and the questions they can ask to take a leadership role in their care.

Some of our patient safety priorities at Harrington include:

Patient safety is a group effort – it is important that healthcare providers and patients play an active role in feeling comfortable that their medical care and hospital experience is a positive one. We encourage our patients to talk with our staff, become knowledgeable in the procedures we perform, medications we prescribe, and policies we enforce.

Together we can make a difference!
