Our comprehensive, full-service Pathology Department provides sophisticated diagnosis of disease through the examination of organs, tissues, and body fluids.
Pathologists, technologists, and technicians direct activities in our onsite anatomic and clinical labs. In addition, our pathologists are joining the New England Pathology Associates (NEPA)–a pathology practice located at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield–bringing additional sub specialty expertise to Harrington, including: cytopathology, gynecologic pathology, gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology, pulmonary pathology, breast pathology, urologic pathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology, and neuropathology.
Anatomical pathology–surgical and cytopatholgy–involves diagnosis of diseases based on the examinations of body tissues and cells. Our pathologists examine tissue biopsies, aspirates and surgical resections, pap smears, and body fluids. In diagnosing patients, we employ state-of-the-art technology to promote accuracy and consistency.
Clinical pathology involves the analysis of bodily fluids, such as blood and urine, using chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and molecular pathology.
Our state-of-the art labs promote optimal levels of quality and prompt turnaround. The key to our approach at Harrington is not only ongoing communication but compassionate care to put patients at ease.
