Harrington Hospital Receives Donation from Burgess School

STURBRIDGE, Mass. – June 6, 2014 – When Mrs. Ramirez second-grade class at the Burgess Elementary School held a pencil sale for charity, they decided the money would go to several organizations, among them the Jimmy Fund, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.

“Its always good to give back,” one of the students explained when Harrington President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Moore paid the class a visit June 4 to thank them for the donation.

“You actually feel better when you help somebody out,” Mr. Moore agreed. “Thats what Harrington does. We make people feel better.”

The 17 students in Beth Ramirez class swapped stories with Mr. Moore, discussing everything from charities they favor to experiences some of them have had when they went to the hospital.

As the session ended, Mr. Moore invited the students, either individually or as a class, to set up an appointment to come visit Harrington and learn more about what the hospital does to help make people feel better.
