Rheumatologist Samuel Poon, M.D., Joins Harrington

WEBSTER, Mass. – October 4, 2013 – Samuel H. Poon, M.D., a Board-Certified Rheumatologist, has joined Harrington Physician Services.

Dr. Poon will work out of Harringtons Webster, Southbridge and Charlton medical facilities. He is now booking new patients for appointments beginning October 28. For more information or to schedule an appointment with Dr. Poon, please call 508-943-5132.

Dr. Poon will see patients with general rheumatologic issues, including osteoarthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogrens syndrome, osteoporosis, and Lyme arthritis. He has particular interest and expertise in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis or scleroderma, myositis, and vasculitis. He is interested in the use of ultrasound in musculoskeletal diseases and guided injections.

Dr. Poon received his Doctorate in Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine as well as his Fellowship in Rheumatology at Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University in Providence, R.I. He is Board Certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine, Rheumatology.

Prior to joining Harrington, Dr. Poon worked as a teaching Rheumatologist at the Providence VA Medical Center, Roger Williams Medical Center, and a consulting Rheumatologist at Rhode Island Hospital for the past three years.
