SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass., June 19, 2013 — Harrington HealthCare System President and CEO Edward H. Moore has been elected to the Board of Directors of CMIC, a leading medical professional liability insurance company serving New England.
Moore was elected during the companys 2013 annual meeting held in early June.
“Mr. Moore is a highly regarded healthcare administrator who brings strategic expertise and leadership experience to the CMIC Board of Directors,” said Denise Funk, CMICs Chief Executive Officer. “These attributes make him a valuable asset to our Board as we continue to diversify our insurance products and expand into New England.”
“As a mutual member-owned company that was created by and is run by physicians, CMIC is in a unique position to understand the needs of healthcare professionals in our region,” Moore said. “I look forward to providing counsel and insight to the CMIC board from the point of view of a healthcare executive.”
Moore has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare management. He joined Harrington HealthCare System in July 2007 from MetroWest Medical Center, where he was Chief Operating Officer as well as the Administrator for the centers Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, Mass. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Eastern Connecticut Health Network in Manchester, Conn.; VHA Northeast in Braintree, Mass.; Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass.; Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, R.I.; and Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Mass.
Moore received an MBA in Hospital Administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Management, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
