WEBSTER, Mass. – March 15, 2013 – Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard will host a Taste of Poland event on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the 200 Sportsmen Club (184 Sutton Road) in Webster. The event takes place from 5:30 p.m. to midnight and features authentic Polish food, dancing and raffles.
The event is a fund-raiser to support the Strengthening our Future campaign to rebuild the Emergency Department in Webster. The $8.8 million campaign, which kicked off in March 2012, is led by a $4 million anonymous matching gift. To date, donations from individuals, businesses and the community have totaled more than $2.2 million.
“A Taste of Poland is going to be really special,” said Sean Mitchell, Director of Development at Harrington HealthCare System. “We are excited to be able to present this event for the Webster area community.”
The buffet-style dinner features authentic homemade Polish entrees, including pierogies, golabki, krokiety, kapusta and kotlety schabowe. There will also be basket raffles and a 50/50 raffle. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Pawel Powaza.
Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased by calling 508-949-8795. Tables of 10 can be reserved with payment.
Unique to the event is the opportunity for individuals to pre-order for take out. Pre-orders for pierogies ($10 per half dozen), kapusta ($7 per 32 oz. container) and golabki ($12 per half dozen) are being accepted now by calling 508-949-8795. Pre-orders must be placed by April 5 and payment is required at time of ordering. Take-out orders will be available for pick up on April 20 between 2 and 5 p.m. at the 200 Sportsmen Club.
Harrington needs less than a million dollars to begin taking steps to break ground on a new Emergency Department at the 340 Thompson Road facility. The Emergency Department at Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard sees 13,000 visits per year and hasnt had a significant renovation since 1955.
