SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – October 21, 2011 – Harrington Physician Services Cardiologist Paul Santolucito, M.D., was awarded the first-ever Total Local Care (TLC) Award Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the annual Harrington HealthCare Physician Recognition Event.
For the first time this year, Board members, staff, patients and providers were all invited to nominate a physician who is caring, collegial, cooperative, flexible, available and reliable. They were also asked to consider someone who puts a high value on quality, safety and diversity, and demonstrates leadership and integrity.
“Dr. Santolucito is always available, is an excellent communicator and a great teacher. He is caring toward patients and their families and has an excellent bedside manner. He is also an excellent resource for hospitalists and other medical staff,” said Dr. Arthur Russo, Vice President of Medical Affairs. “I have had interactions with him both in and outside the office and he is a flexible, available, reliable provider who provides the utmost care to our patients.”
Dr. Paul Santolucito joined the Harrington Physician Services staff in 2010 and practices at both the Southbridge and Webster locations. He received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts (UMass). He completed residency and fellowship from the UMass Department of Internal Medicine and Division of Cardiology, respectively. Dr. Santolucito is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
His clinical interests include: clinical cardiology, including management of coronary artery disease, vascular heart disease, arrhythmias, and congestive heart failure; noninvasive imaging and diagnostic cardial catheritizations.
Forty nominations were submitted by patients, physicians, nursing and other staff members. The TLC Award recipient was selected by a committee made up of Dr. Russo, Medical Staff President Dr. Endre Tamas and Harrington President and CEO Edward Moore.
