SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass., Jan. 1, 2011 – Harrington Hospital welcomed the first baby of the New Year at 4:56 p.m. January 1st – a 5-pound, 4-ounce boy named Jaziah.
As the first baby of the new year at Harringtons Family Birthing Center, Jaziah and his mother, Jacqueline Rojas, 21, (pictured below) received a gift card to Wal-Mart, so mom could buy baby supplies, a teddy bear, and a sleeper outfit. Jaqueline Rojas, who is originally from Southbridge, now resides in Oxford. Jaziahs father is Jovani Irish.
“I really like the attention I get at Harrington; how the nurses treat me,” said Jacqueline Rojas, who had her two other children at Harrington. “I like the way they attend to a newborn. Im able to get rest. Thats why Ive chosen Harrington.”
“Were always excited to celebrate the first baby born,” said Ann Beaudry, the Nurse Manager of Maternal and Childrens Services at Harrington.
