November 22, 2010, SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Rola Shaheen, M.D., Chief of Radiology at Harrington HealthCare Systems, will present at this years Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, held Nov. 28 through Dec. 3 in Chicago.
“Dr. Shaheen takes academic medicine to the next level,” said Ed Moore, President and CEO of Harrington. “Her dedication to breast and womens health goes far beyond what anyone might expect. We are all proud of her achievements and clinical leadership.”
Dr. Shaheens presentation at the conference will focus on the use and quality of breast MRI imaging. The RSNA conference is the premier annual radiology medical meeting in the world. More than 2,400 scientific presentations and posters cover the newest trends in radiologic research. The RSNA has more than 46,000 members in 124 countries.
Dr. Shaheen received her degree in medicine from the University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine in 1996. She held internships at the University of Toronto before completing her fellowship in Radiology with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
In 2008, Dr. Shaheen joined Harrington Hospital as Chief of Breast Imaging. In 2009, she was promoted to Chief of Radiology. She holds weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings at Harrington, focusing on quality of patient care, radiologic technologies and breast imaging. She is actively involved in the new Breast Care Center at Harrington.
Dr. Shaheen is dedicated to health and medical education on international levels. She is a member of several tasks forces and advisory committees on cancer care and breast imaging.
Dr. Shaheens passion for radiology services has taken her around the globe to make presentations and/or provide training in Europe, Jordan, UAE (Dubai), Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
