We accept gifts year-round for our Cancer Center in Southbridge, which treats patients for oncology and hematology medical conditions and illness. We are Commission on Cancer Accredited, and take pride in the personalized, compassionate, advanced care we offer our patients.
In Memory of a Loved One
Patients at our cancer center are like family. Over time, our staff gets to know each individual and their family and friends as if they were our own. Often, when someone passes from cancer, their family, friends or relatives would like to make a donation in their name.
We would be happy to help honor the memory of someone you love by accepting a donation. Gifts offered to the Cancer Center support the needs of other patients, such as co-pay assistance or transportation, as well as to continue to the advancement of cancer treatment and services offered to our community. Please contact our Development Department (774-443-GIVE (4483) or give@umassmemorial.org) for more information.

The Garden of Hope
The Harrington Auxiliary also invites you to commemorate those who have been touched by cancer. You can memorialize loved ones, family and friends with a beautifully inscribed brick, on display on the patio outside our Cancer Center’s top floor.
Bricks are sold in either 4-inch by 8-inch or 8-inch by 8-inch size and can be inscribed up to three lines.

UMass Memorial Health – Harrington and the Southbridge Rotary Club annually hold the Dr. VanVooren’s Annual Golf Tournament in September at the Raceway Golf Club in Thompson, CT. This tournament is a more than 30-year tradition with an excellent following of golfers and generous community donors.
Proceeds from the tournament support Harrington’s comprehensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program by providing educational materials, YMCA scholarships, and equipment for their patients. Proceeds also fund the Dr. VanVooren Scholarship, awarded annually to a Harrington caregiver pursuing a career in the medical field.
More than $40,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded since the tournament began.
If your employer has a matching gift program, you might be able to double or triple the size of your gift to UMass Memorial Health – Harrington. Your employer’s Human Resources Department will be able to tell you if they offer a matching gift program. They can then provide you with the appropriate matching gift forms, which you can send via mail or email to our offices.
