Black-Tie Gala Features Julian Edelman & Danny Amendola
SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass., June 20, 2018 – There are just two weeks left to purchase tickets to Harrington HealthCare System’s major summer fundraiser, “A Fare to Remember,” happening Saturday, July 14 at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.
A special two-day sale will take place Thursday, June 28 through Friday, June 29 for all general admission tickets. Normally $150, event attendees will be able to purchase them for $75 per person via the online box office.
The special does not include VIP tickets, which offers a backstage meet and greet with special guests, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, an exclusive cocktail hour, and an advanced preview of live and silent auction items. There are less than 10 VIP tickets remaining.
All event proceeds will benefit the renovation of Harrington’s Southbridge Emergency Department, a $5 million capital campaign kicking off next month.
Edelman and Amendola will be on stage at the beginning of the event, kicking off an evening of honoring Harrington Heroes, Emergency Department staff and community support for the renovation. The players will also assist in the bidding for special auction items.
The evening features more than 10 local restaurants who will offer signature dishes of their most popular fare, including Rovezzi’s, Burton’s Bar and Grill, The Clam Box, Baba Sushi, Porterhouse, 110 Bar and Grill and Mexicali. Dessert and coffee stations will be available later in the evening, as well as dancing, a photo booth, silent auctions and entertainment.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for separate general admission and VIP cocktail hour receptions.
Harrington will also celebrate its Emergency Department staff during the evening’s on-stage program, highlighting the outstanding care given to longtime Nurse Elise Wilson when she was stabbed while working in June 2017.
Wilson will attend with her family and offer her support for the renovation project, which will, in part, increase the safety of staff and patients, as well as increasing treatment space by 2,400 square feet and modernizing the existing 8,500 square foot space.
Parallel to event ticket sales, the community has been encouraged to become a Harrington “hERo” by participating in a series of online challenges that playfully offer a fundraising face-off between Edelman and Amendola to see who can raise the most money. The “hERo” Challenge has raised over $4,500, but there is still time before the July 9th closing to request donations and win the VIP grand prize which includes 2 suite level tickets to a New England Patriots game, signed memorabilia and more.
The last major renovation of the Southbridge Emergency Department occurred in 1998 bringing the ED to its current complement of 14 stretcher rooms plus a triage and overflow room. Since its last renovation in 1998, the annual ED visit volume has grown 23%, from approximately 22,000 to 27,000, with steady increase over the most recent years.
Online box office closes July 6th. Tickets will not be available at the door. For more event information and tickets, click here.
