Harrington Will Hold 3rd 5K Color Run Fundraiser for Behavioral Health

SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Harrington HealthCare has announced it will hold its third 5K color run and health walk this spring.

The event will be held May 7 at Fay Mountain Farm in Charlton. The 5K begins at 12 p.m.

Online registration is now open by visiting hh5kcolor.eventbrite.com.

The course, open to all fitness levels, features four stations in which participants navigate through eco-friendly color powder. Participants will run through residential neighborhoods near Cemetery Road in Charlton and pass through the orchards at Fay Mountain Farm.  There will also be a shorter course approximately 1 mile in length.

Regular registration is $30 per person. Seniors and students are $15 and children under 10 are free. Walk-in registration will be available the day of the event.

“The community has continued to respond favorably to this event and we are happy to be able to bring it back, especially since it’s unique to have a color run in this area,” said Karen Spiewak, director of development.

The event is a fundraiser with proceeds benefitting Recovery Services at Harrington, an initiative within the healthcare system to give those in the area suffering from mental health and substance use disorders access to the care they need, close to home.

More information about Harrington’s behavioral health services can be found by visiting harringtonhospital.org.

North Brookfield-based Vibram USA, known for creating durable, versatile rubber soles for shoes, including the popular Five Finger sneaker, is the premiere sponsor.

The event is held rain or shine.

The event will also be held alongside the Harrington Auxiliary Annual Lucky Duck and Family Fun Day, occurring at Fay Mountain Farm from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the same day. The longstanding event features entertainment and local vendors and may be best known for the “duck pluck”, in which participants who purchased one or a set of rubber ducks have a chance to win a $1,000 grand prize.

Ducks will be available for purchase starting in March through Volunteer Services at Harrington.
