Harrington Physician Services Adds Maternal-Fetal Medicine to Ob/Gyn Office

SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Harrington Physician Services (HPS) Obstetric and Gynecology practice in Southbridge is adding a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialist for patient consultations.

Dr. Ellen Delpapa, a UMass Memorial Medical Group board-certified MFM specialist, will be available at the HPS Ob/Gyn office, 100 South Street, Suite G05, to see any patient in need of an MFM consultation.

Maternal-fetal medicine manages the health of a mother and fetus during an identified high-risk pregnancy.

There are several reasons why a woman may be identified as having a high-risk pregnancy including, those over 35 years of age, individuals with a chronic or complex medical condition like heart disease or high blood pressure, and women who have experienced complications with a previous pregnancy.

Dr. Delpapa specializes in high-risk obstetrical care, medical complications in pregnancy and obstetric ultrasound – including Level 2 ultrasound, which is a comprehensive, detailed evaluation of fetal anatomy and development typically performed around 20 weeks gestation.

After receiving her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Delpapa completed a fellowship at Magee-Womens Hospital, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, as well as a residency at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
