The 16 members that make up the Board of Directors for Harrington includes medical professionals, community leaders, business entrepreneurs and advocates for many local agencies. They are selected based on their experience and expertise.

Anthony J. Detarando – Chair
Anthony (Jay) Detarando, a resident of Webster, Mass., is Executive Vice President and Treasurer at Incom Inc., a technology company in Charlton, Mass. He has been serving on the Harrington Board for nine years. He currently serves on the Executive Committee as well as the Quality/Patient Safety Committee, the Building and Grounds Committee, the Community &Government Relations Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Personnel Policy Committee.
Edward H. Moore – President
As President and CEO of Harrington HealthCare System, Ed Moore is responsible for the overall operation and expansion of the Hospital and Harrington HealthCare System. He has been with Harrington for over eight years, assuming his leadership role in 2007. Moore received an MBA in Hospital Administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Management, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Moore is a resident of Sturbridge, Mass.
Mark Palmerino – Vice Chair
Mark Palmerino, a resident of Webster, Mass., serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors and has been on the Board for seven years. He currently serves on the Executive Committee as well as the Audit Committee, the Physician Compensation Committee, the Building and Grounds Committee, and the Finance Committee. Palmerino is also a Partner and Financial Consultant with CCR Wealth Management, LLC in Westborough, Mass. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University. Palmerino is also a member of the Massachusetts Hospital Association.

Thomas Sullivan – Treasurer
As Vice President of Fiscal Services and Chief Financial Officer of Harrington, Thomas Sullivan is responsible for setting a financial strategy and overseeing the financial operations of Harrington HealthCare System. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vt., and a Masters in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. Sullivan is a resident of Franklin, Mass., and has been serving on the Board for seven years. He currently serves on the Bylaws Committee and the Physician Compensation Committee.
Theresa Colognesi – HPS Board Representative
Theresa Colognesi, a resident of Southbridge, Mass., is a past Chairperson of the Board ex-officio. Currently, she serves as Chairperson of the Compliance Committee for Harrington and also serves on the Executive Committee, the Bylaws Committee, the Quality/Patient Safety Committee, and the Credentials Committee. She is the Executive Vice President of Retail and Administration at Savers Bank in Southbridge. Colognesi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Westfield University and a Masters of Education in Industrial Psychology from Springfield College. She has served on numerous search committees within the community and is actively involved in the Southbridge Rotary, where she serves as Immediate Past President. Colognesi has been serving on the Board for 11 years.
Anthony M. Detarando – Chairperson of Finance Committee, Ex-Officio
Anthony M. Detarando, a resident of Sturbridge, Mass., serves as Chairperson of the Finance Committee and is an ex-officio member. He has been a member of Harrington’s governing body for 28 years. He also serves on the Executive Committee, the Investment Committee, the Finance/Investment Sub-Committee, the Nominating Committee, and the Audit Committee. Detarando, a graduate of Cornell University, serves as Chairperson of the Board at Incom, Inc. in Charlton, Mass.
Deborah Boyd, a resident of Sturbridge, has served on the Compliance, Personnel Policy and Nominating Committees and is newly appointed to the Board of Directors. She serves as the Associate Superintendent of Business and Finance for the Tantasqua and Union 61 School Districts. Prior to Tantasqua, Boyd worked for United Healthcare and holds an MBA from Anna Maria College.
Jose Dingui, a resident of Southbridge, Mass., has been serving on the Board for three years. He has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Curry College and a Masters in Criminal Justice from Westfield State College. He is Deputy Chief of the Southbridge Police Department and has been an integral part of the Southbridge Cops N Kids Program for 18 years. Dingui currently serves on the Nominating Committee Interim.
Piotr Grabias, M.D.
Piotr Grabias, M.D. is a resident of Northborough, Mass., and has been with the Board for five years. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of Gdansk, Poland, and completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Grabias maintains his own practice (Grabias Medical Group, P.C.) at Harrington’s Webster campus .
John Michael McGlone
John Michael McGlone, a resident of Woodstock, Conn., sits on several committees for Harrington in addition to its Board of Directors, including the Audit Committee, Investment Committee and Finance Committe; he is also the Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. He is self–employed at both McGlone Realty and Mr. Mike’s Commercial and Residential Projects. He attended Quinsigamond College and Worcester State University. He has taken online courses from Harvard University in Public Economics and Yale University in Financial Markets. McGlone also sits on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee for Southbridge Savings Bank, the Investments and Long Range Planning Committees for Muddy Brook Fire Department and is an Advisory Board member of ASPIRA of Massachusetts.
Laurance Morrison is a resident of Sturbridge, Mass., and has been on the Board for four years. He serves on the Compliance Committee, the Quality/Patient Safety Committee, the Finance Committee, the Investment Committee, the Finance/Investment Sub-Committee, and the Personnel Policy Committee. He is the President of the Quinsigamond Community College Foundation Board as well as former Chairperson of YOU, Inc. He chaired the five-town Tantasqua Regional School Committee and is a Corporator of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation. Morrison holds a Bachelor of Art degree in History from Brandeis University, with advanced studies in International Relations at the University of Notre Dame, and completed a graduate fellowship at the Washington Journalism Center.
Robert Muenzberg, Jr.
Robert Muenzberg, Jr., a resident of Charlton, Mass., joined the Board in 2015 and serves on the Finance Committee, the Building and Grounds Committee, and the Quality/Patient Safety Committee. He is the Vice President of McGrath Insurance Group, Inc. in Sturbridge, Mass. Muenzberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. He also serves on the Green Valley Bancorp Executive Committee in Southbridge, Mass
John G. Stagias, M.D.
John G. Stagias, M.D., a resident of Sturbridge, Mass., is the Chairperson of the Quality/Patient Safety Committee. He also serves on the Audit Committee and the Bylaws Committee. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College of Union University, completed an internship and residency at Rhode Island Hospital, and a fellowship at Griffin Hospital/Yale-New Haven. Dr. Stagias is a physician in Harrington’s Gastroenterology Department in Southbridge and has been with the Board for 12 years.
Francis Powers, M.D. – President of the Medical Staff
Francis Powers, M.D., a resident of Uxbridge, Mass., serves on the Board as the President of the Medical Staff of Harrington. He also serves on the Quality/Patient Safety Committee. He has been a member of Harrington’s governing body for one year. He received his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine, held an internship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and did his residency at Miriam Hospital/Brown University. Powers is the Director of Harrington’s Hospitalist Program and practices in Harrington’s Hospitalist Medicine Department in Southbridge.
James Waddick has been serving on the Board for 10 years and was previously Chairperson of the Board. He serves on the Executive Committee as well as the Building and Grounds Committee, the Bylaws Committee, the Physician Compensation Committee, the Community & Government Relations Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Personnel Policy Committee. He is a resident of Sturbridge, Mass., and also serves as Vice President of the United Lens Company. Waddick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Nichols College.
